“Thumbelina” : A ballet in two Acts (4 scenes).

Approximate length: 95 minutes (Act 1, ~ 45’ ; Act 2, ~ 50’ ).

This project — a romantic tale, sad yet amusing, with many incidents, and a poignant, happy ending, intended for a wide audience ( from children of age 7 to even the oldest of spectators ) — is one in which everyone can find something close to heart.

The libretto is based on the Hans Christian Andersen story of the same name. The score was finished in 2019.

Musically it is scored for full symphony orchestra:
[3,2,2,2] - [4,3,3,1] - [timp., perc.] - [Hp] - [Strings] - Percussion: Bass dr., Snare dr., Wooden Block, Tambourine, Triangle, Glock., Vibraphone, Celesta, Piano, and contains not only many beautiful, lyrical and moving “classical” themes, but also rhythms such as tango, boogie-woogie and ragtime.

Narratively, the story has been adapted to include a varied and colorful cast of characters.
It is possible to listen to various numbers in an orchestral setting from “Thumbelina” ballet suite, released by Naxos ( 8.579003 ) earlier.

"Sulamith" ballet in 3 acts, 7 scenes.

Based on the story by the famous Russian writer Alexanre Kuprin (1908). It is a a very dramatic and touching love story about King Solomon and a poor girl, Sulamith, a servant from his vineyard, and the only love of his life. The libretto also includes Assyrian and Egyptian scenes, and all the events described have a historical basis, including the Great Mysteries of Isis and Osiris. Each act is about 45 minutes.
